Premio Shamus
Lo Shamus Award è un premio letterario statunitense per la narrativa poliziesca che è stato assegnato ogni anno dal Private Eye Writers of America (PWA) dal 1982 . Saranno premiati solo i romanzi il cui personaggio principale è un investigatore privato o altro investigatore privato (ad es. Avvocato, giornalista). Non saranno ammessi romanzi in cui investigatori professionisti, come agenti di polizia o agenti segreti, sono i personaggi principali. I vincitori del premio sono selezionati da membri professionisti del comitato PWA. I premi sono attualmente in nove categorie sul PWA Awards Banquet . Un premio chiamato "The Eye" (derivato da "private eye" e "PI") riconosce un autore per il lavoro della sua vita a intervalli irregolari ("Lifetime Achievement Award", corrispondente al Grand Master Award of the Mystery Writers of America ).
